  Working With Digital Images Course  
         
  Course Overview:      
  The aim of this introductory course is to give learners the basic skills required to use their computer to open and edit photographs.    
         
  Course Contents:      
  Take a photo and copy it to your computer      
  Use the basic tools within a photo editing program, eg Google Picasa      
  Make simple changes to photos      
  Print photos      
         
  Entry Requirements:
  Learners should have some basic mouse and keyboard skills.
   
  How long does the course last?
  If learners attend the course at our learning centre the course lasts 4.5 hours. If the course is taught at the learner’s home address within Aberdeen the course lasts 4 hours.
   
  Where does the course take place?      
  The course can be taught at our learning centre or at the learner’s home address subject to location.    
         
  How is the course taught?      
  Learners receive 1-to-1 tuition on an hourly basis over a period of time, for example 1 hour a week for 4 weeks.  
         
  Will learners receive a Certificate at the end of the course?      
  Learners who successfully pass the course will receive a certificate from the Scottish Qualifications Authority.  
         
  What will learners need to do to pass the course?      
  During the course learners will be required to complete an assessment to demonstrate the following skills:  
   Capture a digital image using a hand held digital device      
   Open a photo editing program      
   Make simple adjustments to the captured image      
   Print the adjusted image      
  Close the photo editing program
